PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Member,

Firstly may I say what a great privilege it is to be asked to be President of your Institute for this year.

In these challenging times it’s vital to have the support of a heavyweight organisation. The CII is the world’s leading professional organisation for insurance and financial services. Membership offers you a distinct career advantage and a host of benefits. Your membership counts now more than ever.

It is with this in mind that we have put together another varied educational programme that I am sure will appeal to all members.  Please make sure that you take a few moments to peruse the events we have planned.

On 5th February 2012 the CII reaches a milestone in that it is 100 years since the CII was granted its Royal Charter.  This also coincides with Preston Guild 2012 and your council is working on ideas to celebrate this event.  If any of our members have any ideas that they would like to share with us please feel free to contact either myself or a council member.

Looking forward, and being a relatively new member to council myself, I would really like to see some new faces this year at the various lectures and Materclass’s and possibly joining Council.

As well as supporting our own charity, The Insurance Charities, my nominated charity for this year is The North West Air Ambulance.  Living in a rural area I have seen at first hand how the Air Ambulance can help and save lives.  I would like to think that you would help me to support these two worthwhile cases as you have done in the past.

I look forward to my year as President of Preston and Blackpool and I look forward to meeting you all at the various educational and social events.
